DEAR FRIEND OF THE PILGRIM WAYS
The Pilgrim Ways to Nidaros Cathedral in Trondheim covers 2000 km through 45 Municipalities.

You can now plan your own walk, as:
  • a one–day tour where you live
  • a weekend tour
  • a long distance walk lasting 1–4 weeks

PLANNING WITH THE INTERNET
First you open the General map for the actual way and click the Walking map you want to study.

In the actual map you will find:
  • The dotted walking line for the pilgrim way
  • Clickable symbols for Services and Cultural heritage sites

Shifting between the Walking map, AND Picture gallery, Services and Cultural heritage sites related to the maps, is described on the left side of the General map for each way. The system is smart and well arranged.

The Gudbrandsdalsway, Oslo Hamar Nidaros is the first way that has got a Picture gallery.

General maps:

FOR USE WHEN WALKING
When printed on A4 sheets the maps on the website will be scaled to about 1:50000 where one square is 1 km. The maps overlap at least 0,5 km.

Printing MAP: Right click in the map and choose 'Print picture' for printing the map (alternatively save the map as picture before printing).

Printing LODGING GUIDE (Overnattingsguiden): Open the file and print as A4 (1 or 2–sided):

Take along when walking:
Maps and information for the next stage are put in a waterproof A4–mapcase. Ortlieb mapcase (A4–document bag) is found in sports stores. This mapcase is transparent and is closed with Velcro.

The maps and lodging guide:
The lodgings in the Lodging guide (Overnattingsguiden) are arranged subsequently from Oslo to Trondheim⁄Nidaros as on the maps. "Distance:" means kilometers left to Nidaros. The distance between two places is the difference in kilometers given for the places.

This innovative walking guide will be of use, either for

A PILGRIM ALONG THE WAY
– or
A WALKER ALONG THE PILGRIM WAY

The walking guide is under development
In due time all the lodgings will be fully described with pictures.

And the Cultural heritage sites will also be presented as seen already on a few maps on the Gudbrandsdalsway west, Oslo Gjøvik Øyer.

Additional route information will be added so that the Walking planner will be a complete guide for the walker together with waymarking and information found along the way.
