Pilgrimshouse at Hæverstølen
Hærverstølen has also been the place for 'studies in open–air living' for the past 10 years under the direction of Børge Dahle at the Norwegian College of Physical Education and Sport. During their stay, the students live in two houses put up for this purpose. Here the students have to keep house for themselves and live in close contact with nature as they study it. Pilgrims may stay the night here. EP0705

Nature as a place to learn
Dahle says that it is important to have high–quality learning. Thus the countryside is better suited for such studies, rather than lectures in a lecture hall. Hæverstølen as a place for teaching helps to make visible and stregthens the values of this subject. There is always a political aspect to this. If town's people are to be encoraged to settle in outlying districts, they must have a chance to feel what its like to live in the country in close contact with nature. Many of these who have taken this course of study have subsequently found work in the countryside. EP0705
